Installation

  1. Using a Zip decompression utility, extract the contents of MojoJobs*.zip to a new directory on your computer. Click here for a complete list of included files and their permissions in the package.

  2. Open all the files that have .cgi extension located inside the temporary directory and make sure that the first line points to the correct path to your Perl interpreter. On most web servers the default setting will work perfectly and you do not need to do anything here, proceed with Step 3. However, if you receive server errors when running .cgi files this is one reason why you could have problems. If you don't know where your perl interpreter is located, please ask your system administrators.

  3. Now open your favourite FTP program and upload all the contents which you extracted in Step 1 (all files and folders) into your cgi-bin directory or any directory that allows you to run CGI scripts on your web server in ASCII mode, EXCEPT image files (located in "/images" folder), which need to be uploaded in BINARY mode. Create the "images" and the "photos" folder somewhere OUTSIDE of the cgi-bin directory. You can also create a folder on your server like "/mojojobs" or "cgi-bin/mojojobs" and upload all files and folders into this folder, so you have it cleanly organised.

  4. Change the permissions on ALL the files that you just uploaded that end with ".cgi" to 755 (Read & Execute to all, Write to Owner), or 711 on some servers. In most FTP programs, you can change the permissions on the files by right clicking on the files. You should then choose the option CHMOD or Change Permissions. Windows users should skip this step.

  5. Change permissions to 0777 on the following folders (AND 0666 permission (or 0777 if you have problems) on every FILE inside them):
    emails
    images
    photos
    program_files
    scripts/anti-robot/tmp

    templates

On windows servers, make sure the cgi-bin folder has global write permissions.

  6. Open your favorite web browser and run install.cgi by typing in the URL to the file on your web server in the location bar. Do not close your FTP program yet - you may need to create some folders or change some file permissions as the program runs. Follow the directions given.

The first screen is the license screen, submit to agree to the license.

The second screen is the MySQL access data screen.
The first setting is 'localhost' on most servers, if your MySQL database is located on another server, enter your MySQL server hostname here, you will get this info from your webhost or server admin.
Then enter your mysql details; database name, username and password and submit, if you receive an error here, your mysql access details are either incorrect or your db user does not have sufficient permissions on the database.
Check with your webhost or server admin for correct MySQL access details or make sure the db user has permissions to access the db.
(in some server control panels, it is not enough to create a database and a user, you must also allocate the user to the database you created!)

After you successfully submitted MySQL access details, you will need to enter server paths on the third screen. The pre-defined server paths are usually correct, however you must double check the paths and permissions and MAKE CORRECTIONS IF NECESSARY (you'll get your server path from your web host).
On Windows server, make sure its the correct server paths, starting with c:\\..\...

After you have successfully installed the software, you will be given a link to the admin area on the fourth screen, if you are not getting a successful installation message, then probably you have something wrong your way. Read the errors that are displayed near the top, and correct paths if necessary. If you're still not able to get past, email send us an email with your ftp and mysql access details.

  7. The default admin area username is : admin, and the default password is mojoscripts
You are required to change this password ASAP so no one familiar with our scripts can access your admin area and your program. Also it is recommended to delete the install.cgi right away (after you have kept a copy, of course).

  8. Proceed with setting up your program in the admin area according to your needs by following the information provided in this documentation.

The last step is to modify the template files located in the "/templates" folder to match your site look and feel.

You may also want to personlize the emails to your taste. They are located inside the "/emails" folder while the email subjects are located in a file in the "/program_files" folder

  9. Delete the install.cgi immediately after sucessfully installed the program.
